The Science of NMN & NAD+
What is NAD+?
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every living cell — a molecular helper your cells can't function without. It plays a central role in turning the food you eat into usable energy, and it's involved in hundreds of cellular reactions, including pathways that help cells repair and maintain themselves. Because NAD+ sits at the heart of energy metabolism, it has become one of the most studied molecules in the science of healthy ageing.
Why NAD+ declines with age
Research suggests that NAD+ levels in the body tend to fall as we get older. Lower NAD+ availability is one of the changes scientists associate with the cellular side of ageing — part of why NAD+, and the molecules the body uses to make it, have drawn so much interest.
Where NMN fits in
NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) is a direct precursor to NAD+: your body takes NMN and converts it into NAD+. NMN occurs naturally in the body and in trace amounts in foods such as broccoli, avocado and edamame — but only in very small quantities, which is why it's taken as a concentrated supplement. By supplying NMN, the aim is to support your body's own NAD+ production as part of a healthy daily routine.
What the research shows — and what it doesn't
NMN and NAD+ are active areas of scientific research. Much of the work so far has been in laboratory and animal studies, with a growing number of early human trials examining NMN's effects on NAD+ levels and related measures. The field is promising but still developing, and we think it's important to be honest about that.
We don't make medical claims. NMN is a food supplement, not a medicine, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. What we can say is that NMN is a precursor your body uses to make NAD+, a coenzyme involved in cellular energy and repair.
How to take NMN
Pure NMN provides 500mg per capsule. Take one capsule daily with water, ideally in the morning with food. Consistency matters more than timing — NMN is best thought of as a long-term daily habit. Available in 30-capsule (1-month), 60-capsule (2-month) and 90-capsule (3-month) bottles.
